Ressources

Résumé: In this study, the oxidative pyrolysis of large pine wood particles was analysed using a Macro-ThermoGravimetric apparatus (Macro-TGA). The effects of the concentration of oxygen in the surrounding gas and of particle size were investigated. Three different oxygen concentrations (0 %, 10 % and 20 %) and three sizes of ...

Résumé: A coloring of a graph G is properly connected if every two vertices of G are the ends of a properly colored path. We study the complexity of computing the proper connection number (minimum number of colors in a properly connected coloring) for edge and vertex colorings, in undirected and ...

Résumé: Numerical simulations of free surface flows are important to provide a prediction tool for the optimal management of irrigation canals. Here we consider an alternative to solving the shallow water equations. We propose a free surface model in which the vertical component of the water current is fully resolved. We ...

Résumé: The Torsion Anomalous Conjecture (TAC) states that a subvariety V of an abelian variety A has only finitely many maximal torsion anomalous subvarieties. In this work we prove, with an effective method, some cases of the TAC when the ambient variety A has CM, generalising our previous results in products ...

Résumé: — In this paper a control algorithm for the reduced port-Controlled Hamiltonian model (PCH) of the shallow water equations (PDEs) is developed. This control is developed using the Interconnection and Damping Assignment Passivity Based Control (IDA-PBC) method on the reduced PCH model without the natural dissipation. It allows to assign ...

Résumé: Starting from a relational database that gathers information on people mobility – such as origin/destination places, date and time, means of transport – as well as demographic data, we adopt a graph-based representation that results from the aggregation of individual travels. In such a graph, the vertices are places or ...

Résumé: The D1Q3 lattice Boltzmann (LB) shallow water equation is analyzed in detail and compared with other numerical schemes. Analytical results are derived and used to discuss the accuracy and stability of the model. We show how such D1Q3 LB models for canal reaches may be easily coupled with various hydraulic ...

Résumé: BCIs are presumably supposed to require the full attention of their users and to lose accuracy if they pay attention to another task. This assertion has been verified with several BCI paradigms (e.g. P300). But the cognitive demand of the promising SSVEP paradigm had never been specifically assessed yet. We ...

Résumé: The independent acquisition of endothermy in synapsids and diapsids are major events in vertebrate evolution since they were the driving force of a suite of correlated changes in anatomical, physiological, behavioural and ecological traits. While avian endothermy is assumed to have occurred at the archosauriform node, the acquisition of mammalian ...

Résumé: Advances in motion tracking technology, especially for commodity hardware, still require robust 3D gesture recognition in order to fully exploit the benefits of natural user interfaces. In this paper, we introduce a novel 3D gesture recognition algorithm based on the sparse representation of 3D human motion. The sparse representation of ...
